In the past decade, we built connections with partners eager to join hands in pursuing a shared journey towards freedom, democracy, and peace. Along this path, we navigated through challenges, acknowledged differences, and learned valuable lessons from both setbacks and numerous successful initiatives. Through these experiences, we discovered that the Sri Lankan civil society thrives on value-based partnerships rather than merely funding-based ones. We place immense value on our grassroots partners for their unwavering commitment and invaluable contributions. Our community, comprising over 1,000 village Citizen Watchers, over 3,000 Citizen Reporters, young activists, and dedicated government servants, also provides boundless strength for AFRIEL and our partners and friends, enabling us to sustain our impactful work for democracy. As we look ahead, we are deeply grateful for the collaborative spirit that propels us forward and the enduring partnerships that continue to shape a brighter future for our shared goals.
